In the summer of 2024, Drake Brake outfit took part in the expedition of the Northern Hydrometeorological Service Administration to the cold expanses of the Arctic. A team of expert meteorologists, ecologists, engineers and other specialists spent more than a month among the cold Arctic landscapes.
The first week of the expedition was spent on a long passage to the research area on the legendary vessel Mikhail Somov, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025. The team then began making daily sorties to the stations, visiting more than ten locations in total. One of the expedition participants - Alexander Katsaruba, Arkhangelsk hunter and coordinator of SIG “North”, was able to test Drake Brake clothing in harsh Arctic conditions. On the expedition, the experienced hunter was assigned a vital duty: to keep an eye on polar bears coming to the stations and, in emergencies, to chase the animals away. This kind of work meant being outdoors all the time, and it was vital for Alexander to have a quality outfit. Drake Brake Brown suits were put to the test - cold, snow, mud, rain and most importantly - constant gale force winds. But despite all the hardships of the Arctic weather, the suits perfectly coped with their tasks and helped Alexander to enjoy the northern beauties.
